Health & Safety Standards
MIWEC upholds industry-leading health and safety protocols — protecting crews, clients, and jobsite stakeholders through every phase of project execution.
Safety Is Built Into Our Process
At MIWEC, safety isn’t just a policy — it’s a project-wide commitment. Every job begins with a site-specific risk assessment, continues with daily toolbox briefings, and closes with compliance documentation for final reporting.
Whether operating cranes, dismantling industrial machinery, performing selective demolition, or working in occupied environments, our field teams follow OSHA, EPA, and client-specific standards without compromise.
Our project managers and safety officers actively monitor field activity to prevent incidents, minimize liability, and maintain our industry-leading EMR.
Core Safety Practices & Protocols
Daily Pre-Task Safety Meetings
Each shift begins with a structured toolbox talk to review potential hazards, weather conditions, equipment usage, and safety controls.
Site-Specific Safety Plans (SSSP)
Customized safety plans are prepared for every jobsite — integrating scope, staffing, environmental risks, and client expectations.
Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Compliance
MIWEC enforces full LOTO protocols when handling electrical disconnects, rigging prep, and mechanical isolation tasks.
PPE Enforcement
All workers are equipped with and required to wear job-appropriate PPE — including hard hats, eye protection, gloves, steel-toe boots, and high-visibility vests.
Hot Work Permitting & Fire Watch
Torch use and cutting operations are governed by hot work permits, spark containment plans, and a full-time fire watch when required.
Emergency Response & Evacuation
Emergency plans are documented and posted on every site, with first aid kits, AEDs, and trained responders on standby.
Certifications & Training Programs

All supervisors and field crew maintain up-to-date OSHA credentials to comply with federal safety standards across demolition and recovery sites.
