Scope of Work


MIWEC performed complete deactivation of a high-volume fulfillment center in the Midwest. The project required removal of material handling equipment (MHE), automation systems, conveyors, structural racking, mezzanines, and IT infrastructure.

Work was staged around active loading zones and staggered crew schedules to avoid interference with final outbound shipments.







Challenges & Solutions



️ Challenge:
Large-scale racking and automation systems integrated into concrete slab.


✅ Solution:
MIWEC crews used anchor point extraction tools and grinding to avoid floor damage.



⚠️ Challenge:
Live network cabinets, UPS units, and power lines still in service.


✅ Solution:
Decommissioning sequenced with IT shutdown protocols and final data retrieval.



Challenge:
Tight deadline with overlapping final fulfillment operations.


✅ Solution:
MIWEC staged night shift crews and worked zone-by-zone with warehouse lead.






Timeline & Execution


The project was completed over a 2.5-week period, including staging, phased disassembly, and complete sweep-out. Rigging and demolition were performed concurrently with value recovery and recycling services.
