Scope of Work


MIWEC decommissioned a refrigerated distribution hub requiring specialized handling of climate-controlled systems, ammonia piping, and insulated racking. The client needed zero disruption to adjacent operational buildings.

Additional scope included full dismantling of walk-in freezer zones, cold-rated racking systems, and dock-area components — completed in active logistics zones with phased access.

Live ammonia lines in rooftop and wall-mounted loops.

Certified subcontractor performed full purging under MIWEC’s supervision with odor control.

Insulated freezer zones with tight access and no ventilation.

Panels removed top-down, staggered shifts used to keep air flow and safety compliance.

Ongoing operations in adjacent buildings with dock limitations.

MIWEC phased all work, used off-peak hours, and ran after-hours haul-outs to avoid conflict.






Timeline & Execution


3-week project completed in phases to allow for selective occupancy by neighboring tenants. Specialty sub-trades were coordinated under MIWEC’s supervision for refrigerant recovery and insulation removal.
